Sheraton founders Ernest Henderson and Robert Moore acquire their first hotel in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Sheraton continues its global expansion, opening its first hotels in the Middle East and South America. In 1965, Sheraton opened the doors of its 100th hotel – The Sheraton Boston.
